Quetta: Of the 11 Senate elections on which election took place in Balochistan, five were secured by independents, two by PkMAP, one each by PML-N, JUI-F and NP.
Four of the seven general Senate seats were won by independents in Balochistan Assembly. The remaining three were won by PkMAP’s Sardar Shafiq Tareen, JUI-F’s provincial president Maulana Faiz Mohammad, and NP’s Akram Dashti, respectively. The four independent candidates who won on Saturday were Anwarul Haq Kakar, Saadiq Sanjrani, Ahmad Khan and Kedda Babar.
PkMAP’s Abida Umar and independent candidate Sana Jamali were elected as Senators on seats reserved for women, while PML -N’s Naseebullah Khan Bazai and NP’s Mir Tahir Binzinjo secured the seats for technocrats.
