DUBAI: Two Chinese cricketers have joined the Peshawar Zalmi camp for Pakistan Super League’s third edition on a special invitation by the franchise.

Jian Li and Yufie Zhang will remain with the squad as franchise chairman Javed Afridi’s special guests.

Both the cricketers were given a warm welcome upon their arrival today in Dubai. Former Pakistan captain and Peshawar Zalmi mentor Yonis Khan presented team shirts to the guests. At this occasion, the cricketers said Yonis Khan is their idol and receiving shirts from him is a memorable experience for them.

The initiative has been taken in an effort to promote cricket in China, after the China Zalmi team won the Global Zalmi League organised by the franchise last month – a fan-based league of cricket enthusiasts with representative Zalmi clubs in over 16 countries around the world.
