Training of 25,000 school teachers by QAED starts today

LAHORE: The two-month long training of newly recruited 25,000 school teachers and Assistant Education Officers (AEO) organized by Quaid e Azam Academy for Educational Development (QAED)will start on (Thursday) at more than 400 centers across the 36 districts of Punjab.

Talking to Daily Times about training program, Additional Director General QAED Syed Mubashir Hussain observed that after the merit-based recruitment of 25, 000 teachers and AEOs in previous month, QAED has planned a rigorous induction training which will be held at more than 400 centers in all the districts of the Punjab, where 804 classes have been established with two master trainers in each class.

Talking about the importance of training Syed Mubashir said that providing quality education in the public schools of Punjab is the main aim of QAED, for which all teachers are provided continuous mentoring and professional development at the Cluster Training Centers.

According to him, as per the vision the Chief Minister and the Secretary School Education Punjab, the newly recruited teachers and managerial staff are given eight weeks induction training so that they can enhance their pedagogical and managerial skills as well as content knowledge.

Focal Person of the training Amir Rauf said that trainees’ evaluation is based upon their performance in tests during the training, attendance, participatory behaviour and other task-oriented indicators.
