ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) MNA Tariq Mehmood has on Tuesday announced his departure from the ruling party to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).

Tariq Mehmood, MNA from NA-98 constituency of Gujranwala, met PTI Chairman Imran Khan and other party leaders at Bani Gala, where he announced his decision to join hands with the party. He also slammed ‘corrupt’ leaders of PML-N during the meeting.

Speaking to the PTI leaders, Mehmood said that he has decided to join PTI along with thousands of supporters. He also lauded the Imran-led party and stated that he has firm belief in party leadership and vision.

Taking jibes at Nawaz Sharif and PML-N leaders, Mehmood said that Imran Khan has secured the future of coming generations by bringing the ‘corrupt’ Sharif brothers to justice. He also vowed to eliminate PML-N strongholds in Gujranwala during the general elections 2018.

PTI spearhead lauded Tariq Mehmood’s decision to join the party. He also announced that he would visit Punjab in the coming days and answer those uttering ‘derogatory remarks against the institutions’.
