Sir: It is true that a mother language plays a vital role in the development of any nation. But, it is very sad that ethnic languages like Pashto, Brohvi and Balochi are not being taught in Balochistan’s schools.
Baloch children are deprived of their own mother languages. It is very important to teach Baloch students their own languages, not simply because they are Balochis but also because language plays a very important role in arena of politics and other fields.
Governor of Balochistan, Mohammed Khan Achakzai, said on Monday that practical steps should be taken for the promotion of mother tongue. Moreover, he said Balochi, Pashto and Brohvi should be taught in schools which are the oldest languages in our history. It’s a great news. I hope his orders are implemented.
This indeed is a silver lining. We should be appreciating his words.
