This he said during a hearing at the Sindh High Court pertaining to the case on crackdown against production and distribution of gutka and Mainpuri in Karachi.
The high court ordered authorities to continue the crackdown against the production and distribution of these harmful items.
“Last year, we registered 500 cases against the production and distribution of gutka,” said the attorney representing Sindh government.
“As soon as a case is registered against them, these persons obtain temporary bail,” he said.
The commissioner disclosed that authorities had sealed two factories that were producing gutka and Mainpuri.
“These items are now being produced secretly inside houses,” he said.
