HAMILTON: South Africa were to continue their second innings sitting at 80-5 close to a hundred runs behind the black caps, before rain washed out the final day of play and the match was tied with the Proteas clinching the series.
As skipper Faf du Plessis and wicket keeper, Quinton de Kock both were not out at 15 respectively with the black caps needing only five wickets to seal a series-levelling win, there was a change of plans as heavy rain hit Hamilton’s Seddon park.
It continued to pour down for quite a while which resulted in the match officials decision to end the third and final match of the series as a draw between the two teams resulting in the Proteas clinching the series.
