SHIKARPUR: Three villagers were kidnapped from Faizo area, some 40 kilometers away from Shikarpur.
According to reports, Muhammad Ismail Malik, Abdul Ghaffor, Muhammad Rafique, Abdul Wahab and Imamuddin, belonging to Kandhkot and Daharki town, were coming from village Haji Khan Kalhoro on a rickshaw.
Unidentified gunmen intercepted them and kidnapped them at gunpoint. Later, they released Imamuddin and Muhammad Ismail Malik. However, they took Abdul Ghaffor, Muhammad Rafique and Abdul Wahab with them.
Police started searching for the kidnappers with the help of sniffer dogs in katcha area of Ghari Tegho.
Manthar Ali Shar, the SHO Faizo Police, said that an operation was being conducted to find the kidnapped villagers.
Shikarpur SHO Umar Tufail remained unavailable for comments despite repeated efforts. The family members of the abducted persons held a protest demonstration and demanded their release.
