KHBER AGENCY: Quoting the words of Afghan Vice President, FATA Parliamentarian Shahje Gul Afridi on Wednesday said that Abdullah Abdullah considered Durand Line as an international border between Afghanistan and Pakistan.
Sahji Gul Afridi during an interview said that in his recent visit to Afghanistan he met with different Afghan leaders including Abdullah Abdullah. He said Afghan leaders and deputy head of the Government received them with warm welcome.
Afridi quoted Abdullah Abdullah words said: “I am the supporter of Durand Line between the two brother Muslim countries”. Shahji Gul said Abdullah Abdullah want that Afghanistan should not waste its time in the so-called Durand Line dispute. He said some of the Afghan leaders were provoking citizens to achieve their own interests.
Afridi said Afghanistan not attending the Economic Cooperation Organization summit held on march1, in Islamabad was the mistake of Afghan government. He said they assured Afghan leaders that Pakistani nationals especially Pashtoons consider them their real brothers and sisters.
He said both the Pakistani and Afghan people and their leaders want not to let anyone to use their soils against each other. He said peace in Afghanistan was inevitable for peace in Pakistan.
He said to help reduce the ongoing tension Pakistan accepted the invitation and sent a high level delegation to Afghanistan headed by Iqbal Zafar Jaghra, the governor of KP.
He said they also attended the colorful Nowroze(New Year) event held in Kabul.
Shaji Gul Afridi said they also met with the Balkh governor, Atta Muhammad Nori and deputy speaker of Afghan parliament Nazir Ahmadzai and other senior government and civil representatives.
Shaji Gul Afridi said it was the clear statement of Abdullah Abdullah and Balkh Afghan province governor that “Durand Line” dispute between Pakistan and Afghanistan had already ended. He said and the government officials who not accept the border want for their wasted interests.
Afridi said those investing their capital in Afghanistan were interested to enjoy stable political and trade relations with Pakistan.
“Those Afghan leaders whose children are living in Europe and the United States will put hurdles to sabotage close bilateral trade and security relations with Pakistan”, said MNA Shahji Gul Afridi. Afridi said Afghan three generations born and grown in Pakistan with obtaining high level of education and well trained in different professional and skills in Pakistani institutions.
He said Afghan citizens graduated in Pakistan were performing their duties in Afghan government and imparting Fata parliamentarian leader said most of the Afghan leaders were agreed to respect each other countries and cooperate to build up friendly environment across the border.
Shaji Gul Afridi accused that India was the hard core enemy of all Muslims around the globe to create chaos and disturbance in the Muslim countries.
He urged the Afghanistan government not to play in the Indian hands as it would only create a gulf between the two nations but would further harm the fragile Afghan economy.
He said after the Russian forces occupation Pakistan opened doors for Afghan refugees. He said shelter was provided to three million Afghan refugees in 1979.
Regarding the Torkham border issue Shahji Gul said the Torkham border issue would soon be resolved as they held several rounds of talks with Afghan leaders, with the governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and high ranking army officials.
