Syeda Surraiya Begum had been a heart patient for a long time. “My daadi had suffered a heart attack previously as well, and so had been a heart patient for a long time,” Meera informed Daily Times.
The actress’s late grandmother was admitted at the Punjab Institute of Cardiology (PIC), Lahore where the doctors had informed her that she was better now and free to go home on Tuesday night. However, in the morning, her daughter discovered her lifeless lying on the bed. She was again rushed to PIC, where the doctors pronounced her dead from a heart attack.
‘I am on my way to Sialkot right now, where my daadi will be buried in our family graveyard,’ Meera said
Syeda Surraiya Begum was close to a 100 years of age.

Earlier on Wednesday, Meera had shared on all her social media accounts, the news of her grandmother’s death. “It is with sadness that I have to announce the passing of my beloved paternal grandmother. She was an amazing woman. Please remember her in your prayers and may Allah grant her eternal peace in Jannatul Firdaus. Ameen,” she had posted.
In a separate post on Instagram, she posted a picture of herself with her grandmother and captioned it, “I would kindly request my dear friends and
fans all over the world to pray for my dear daadi’s maghfirat and kindly recite Fateha for the departed soul.”
