ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) senior leader Nilofar Bakhtiar has on Wednesday lauded party co-chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari for convincingly presenting Pakistan’s case at World Economic Forum (WEF) annual meeting.
Speaking to the media, Nilofar said that not only has Bilawal ‘won hearts’ of the people of Pakistan by presenting the country’s rhetoric at WEF, he has also sent a message to politicians from across the country on how to defend Pakistan at global forums.
The PPP leader added that young politicians such as Bilawal are need of the hour and that all patriotic Pakistanis should unite under the leadership of the party co-chairman.
Lauding the party, Nilofar said that PPP is the only political faction within the country which respects women in a ‘true sense’ since it believes in the philosophy of former prime minister Benazir Bhutto.
Referring to the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), Nilofar said that the nation should thank party co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari for the project. “If Zardari had not headed transfer of Gwadar from Singapore’s PSA International to China, there would be no CPEC,” Nilofar said.
She also credited the former president for initiating Pakistan-Iran Gas Pipeline project during his tenure, while she also criticised the ruling government for failing to build on it.
“Asif Zardari initiated the Pak-Iran Gas Pipeline which would have proved beneficial for the country’s development, but the current government’s negligence has caused delays in execution of the project,” she said.
