LAHORE: The daughter of ousted prime minister Nawaz Sharif, Maryam Nawaz, has said that the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) is filing additional references against the Sharif family because it has nothing to prove against them.
She was responding to the NAB’s decision of filing supplementary references against Nawaz over Al Azizia and Flagship cases in accountability court.
“Filing of one after another reference by the NAB means there is nothing to prove against us,” Maryam took to Twitter to say.
She once again lambasted the top court’s decision in Panama papers case saying it was the “worst decision” in the history of justice. People have rejected the decision, she added.
The NAB filed three interim corruption references against the Sharif family in September last year in light of the Panama Papers case verdict that disqualified Nawaz from his post as prime minister.
