ISLAMABAD: National Accountability Bureau (NAB) on Wednesday requested the Interior Ministry to place names of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) President Nawaz Sharif, daughter Maryam Nawaz and son-in-law captain (retd) Safdar on the Exit Control List (ECL).

Two separate letters from the bureau were dispatched to the ministry asking names of Nawaz, Maryam and Safdar to be placed on the ECL in Azizia Steel Mills and Avenfield properties references. NAB sources said that the accused might try to flee the country.

Earlier today, NAB chairman Justice (retd) Javed Iqbal approved filling of two supplementary references in an accountability court against the Sharif family in Azizia Mills and Flagship Investments cases.

On February 9, the investigation bureau had summoned Nawaz for an appearance pertaining the case, but he failed to appear before the probing unit.
