2,000 teachers await promotions in Rawalpindi

RAWALPINDI: At least 2,000 teachers await their promotion in district Rawalpindi, under Punjab Chief Ministers Package, promotions are given to the teachers in December every year in all the districts.

Rawal Teachers Association has expressed concern over delay in promotions, the association said that there were reports of irregularities in the seniority lists being prepared for promotions.

The association further said that it will go to court if the demands of teachers regarding promotions were not fulfilled.

The committee cannot complete its goals due to which more than 2000 PST, EST and SST male and female teachers have been deprived of their promotions across the district.

Had the promotion notices been issued till March 31 then the funds would have been allocated in the budget for the year 2017-18 as per pay, allowances and privileges of the teachers.

Meanwhile District Education Officer (DEO) Rawalpindi Zia said that District Planning Committee (DPC) would be held on April 17 in regard to teacher’s promotions above wherein seniority lists would be completed.
