Imran Khan meets army chief

RAWALPINDI: Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan on Friday met Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa and congratulated him on his promotion and appointment as the army chief, said an Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) tweet.

The military’s media wing said that “various issues came under discussion”. No further details about the visit were provided by the ISPR.

General Bajwa was promoted on November 29, 2016. Khan’s congratulatory visit comes almost four months after the appointment of the new army chief. There is no word from Imran Khan or the PIT about the meeting.
