Hyderabad growers protest against water shortage

HYDERABAD: Landlords of the Arian regulator sub division Talhar held a demonstration outside the office of the Sindh Irrigation and Drainage Authority (SIDA) in protest against water shortage on Thursday.

Landlord Mir Wali Muhammad, Gorham Khan Chandio and score of protestors raised slogans against Managing Director Muhammad Khan Nizamani.

They said that they had been deprived of water for eight months and even drinking water was not available in their area. There is no source to cultivate our lands which are in hundreds acres, our cattle are dying due to non-availability of water and also resulting in fields destruction.
