SMBBMU terms protest by teaching staff beyond any reason, justification

LARKANA: Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto Medical University (SMBBMU), Larkana termed the protest by teaching staff beyond any reason and without any justification. The spokesman of University, Abdul Samad Bhatti said that two cases were pending for decision in the Sindh High Court Circuit Court, Larkana about promotions of teachers. Teachers should wait for decision of these petitions. He said leave encashment was declared illegal by National Accountability Bureau vide letter October 9, 2017 and Higher Educations Commission had also declared it unlawful and directed to stop it but even then, administration of SMBBMU has written letters to other universities of Sindh to let them know their policy in this connection. He said that decision in this regard would be taken after receipt of their views/policy. Those who are creating hurdles in education system are liable for legal action under decision vide CP D-1137 of 2015, Para-11 decided by SHC. Bhatti said that in this connection a meeting was already held with agitating teachers in which their issues were discussed in detail and they were assured for resolution of their problems/demands but even then their protest was uncalled for.
