Inspiring youth

Sir: I remember that in 1990s, there was a popular television show named as Ainak Wala Jinn, this show was not only known for its creativity but also for good storyline and punching lines that attracted the young generation. This show created a massive fan following. There might have been other programs for children during that time too, but they did not have much of an impact on the children of these times, which they would’ve remembered after years as well.

Very few of us are aware that in 2017 a new concept for acknowledging the outstanding women and men of Pakistan through animation cartoon named as ‘Teetoo and Tania’ is on aired. A famous musician of Pakistan Haroon Rashid under the banner of Unicorn Black has identified this thought provoking concept for aiming to empower young girls in Pakistan. We all quite known about this reality that Pakistani women are considered as second class citizens, they are not given their due constitutional and fundamental rights. Through this show Pakistani heroes struggle is described and by doing this it will inspire the youth of Pakistan.

‘Teetoo and Tania’ is a fun looking animated series that depicts a funny green looking alien ‘Teetoo’ who is invading planet earth to destroy it. But he met by the Pakistani teen ‘Tania’ who is the only girl on earth who can save it now. She shows and explains him about the positive Pakistan by quoting examples of outstanding personalities of Pakistan.

Till know this show have produced and featured Edhi, Muniba Mazari, Mustaq Chappra, Dr Ruth Pfau, Aitzaz Ehsan, Ansar Burney and Ghulam Fatima in its animation cartoons and one can see them on YouTube or PTV. This show simply highlights positive image of Pakistan. Not only are heroes and role models featured in each episode but also the wonderful Pakistani talent that produced this show. The quality of the show is at par with international productions.

Finally I want to congratulate the whole team for bringing this genuine idea and its something for kids but I want to request them that to portray other outstanding personalities of Pakistan like Ghulam Sughra, Pervez Hoodbhoy, Asma Jahangir and Abid Hassan Manto.
