Shikarpur: social activists demand to declare Chak as Tehsil

SHIKARPUR: The leaders of Chak Social Welfare Association demanded to upgrade Chak Town into Tehsil for the larger interests of the people, here on Friday. According to statement issued by Chak Social Welfare Association in which the leaders including president (CSW) Jameel Ahmed Mahar stated that Chak town comprised of 06 wards and has a population of 40,000 while around Chak there are six union councils including Fatih Tando, Sehwani, Azimabad, Mehmoodabagh, Bhirkan and Abido and total union councils have a total population of 50,000. The leaders of Chak Welfare Association demanded of the high ups to take notice of the matter and immediately approve proposal of Chak Taluka so that people of Chak could get facilities at their door steps and in this regard “Taluka Chak Movement” would be started before long, accordingly.
