Hyderabad: Kashmir is Pakistan’s lifeline, respiratory cord and inseparable identity. We are in absolute solidarity with people of Kashmir; and unflinchingly believe in their undeniable right to freedom. India must not suppress their right of self-determination. We salute the sacrifices rendered by People of Kashmir in their selfless struggle for independence, said vice chancellor of Sind University Prof. Dr. Fateh Muhammad Burfat; while he led a rally taken out at SU main campus at Jamshoro yesterday as a mark of Varsity’s solidarity with Kashmiri brothers and sisters.
Pro-Vice Chancellors of various SU campuses, deans, academic and administrative heads, faculty, officers, employees, male and female students and masses from suburbs participated in the rally.
The rally commenced at the mausoleum of Allama I. I Kazi and culminated at the Varsity’s central library, where the vice chancellor Dr. Burfat addressed the participants of the rally.
“We have taken out this rally today to categorically express to our Kashmiri brothers and sisters that we at University of Sindh in particular and as a nation in general are with them no matter what.
We second and support their just struggle for what we believe is their due and irrefutable prerogative”, said Dr. Burfat.
The participants of the rally carried banners and placards with pro-Kashmir slogans inscribed on them.
They also chanted deafening, excited and poignant slogans that included statements like ‘ Kashmir shall become Pakistan’, ‘ Our struggle will continue till the day Kashmir is liberated’, ‘ Kashmir wants freedom’, ‘ Pakistan’s respiratory cord Kashmir’, ‘ Stop atrocities against people of Kashmir’ and ‘ We are with you our brothers and sisters’.
Separately, the Shikarpur district administration took out a rally to express solidarity with innocent Kashmiri people; it was started from High School No. 01 up to Lakhidar Clock Tower, here on Monday.
Rally was led by Javeed Anwar Shaikh, Assistant Commissioner-01 Shikarpur.
Speaking on the occasion Javeed Anwar Shaikh, Nadeem Shaikh, and others said that Kashmir is unbreakable part of Pakistan and Kashmiris are not alone in their struggle and it would be continued until its freedom adding we are along with our Kashmiri brothers in this hard time besides Indian government has crossed it’s all limits to do atrocities on weaponless innocent Kashmiris and who demanded the united nations to take notice of atrocities of Indian government, speakers said and added that Kashmir is backbone of Pakistan and Pakistan will continue its legal and moral support to powerless Kashmiris for larger interests of the innocent Kashmiris during their speech speakers strongly condemned the atrocities of Indian.
A large number of officers and officials belonged to Information department, Education department, Health department and others participated in rally besides students of the high school were chanting slogans against atrocities of India and in favour of Kashmir.
On the other hand, Pakistan People Party [PPP], Jamait-i-Islami [JI], Jamiat-e-Ulema-i-Islam-Fazal [JUI-F], Imamia Students Organization [ISO], and other political parties also took out rallies in favour of Kashmiris and against Indian atrocities.
It is worthwhile to mention here that Pakistan has been marking 5th February as “Kashmir Day” since 1990 to express solidarity with innocent Kashmiris against atrocities of Indian government to highlight the issue in front of World.
Kashmir Day was suggested by Qazi Hussain Ahmed, Jamait-i-Islami leader, in 1990 and since than government had declared 5th February as Kashmir Day to express solidarity with Kashmiris and on the eve of solidarity day all the public, semi government and private offices in across Pakistan have been remaining shut down since 1990.
Meanwhile, a big rally was also taken out by PTI in Mehar Town to express solidarity with the Kashmiri people. Rally was taken out from Betto Jatoi to community center Mehar. It was led by PTI central leader, ex-minister, Liaquat Ali Jatoi, PTI vice president Sindh, Sadaqat Ali Jatoi, ex Zila Nazim karim Ali Jatoi, district president PTI Sardar Ashiq Ali Zounr.
Speaking to the rally Liaquat Ali Jatoi appealed to secretary general UNO to implement the resolution of UNO for establishing peace and security in occupied Kashmir. He said that UNO secretary general should take efforts for independence of their separate and independent state for the people of occupied Kashmir. He demanded the withdrawal of the Indian Army from occupied Kashmir. He demanded that the UNO secretary general take efforts of killing of innocent Kashmiris by the Indian Army. He said that it was basic right of occupied Kashmiris to live free by performing their religious and social liberties. Rallies also were taken out by citizens and social activists in Mehar, KN Shah and Johi towns.
Meanwhile, a rally was taken out in Dadu on Monday by all walks of life of people to express solidarity with Kashmiri people. Rally was taken out from Deputy Commissioner Office and it marched across various roads and streets and arrived at Dadu Press Club. They were led by civil surgeon of the civil hospital Dr Abdul Razak Junejo, assistant commissioner Dadu, Mohammad Ali Lund, Mohammad Saddiq, professor Mohammad Irfan Kalhoro vice principal of Ustad Bukhari degree college boys and ASP Dadu Anil Hyder Manhas. A large number of students and citizens also joined rally.
Rally was also taken out by students of Ustad Bukhari Degree College, Dadu.
Rally was also taken out by Jamaait Ahale Sunnat and Sunni Tahreek in Dadu and expressed solidarity with the people of Kashmir. Social media group activists also took out a protest rally and demanded stopping the victimization of people of occupied Kashmir.
