Jatoi asks Bilawal to fix Sindh before finding faults in KP

KARACHI: Before criticising others, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari must update himself on the performance of Sindh government in extending protection to children, PTI central leader Liaquat Ali Jatoi said on Monday.

He said every day more and more cases of child abuse were being reported from various districts of Sindh. The provincial government had yet to take notice of these incidents and act to put those responsible for these heinous crimes behind bars.

Jatoi said that his party would propose a new legislation in the Sindh Assembly to ensure adequate protection of children.

Jatoi, a former chief minister, made these remarks while addressing a public gathering at his residence.

He advised PPP chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari to check the progress of his party’s government in reported cases of child abuse and to take action against officials found negligent in dispensation of their duties. He said that the KPK government was better in all aspects compared to PPP’s Sindh government.

Instead of criticising the KPK government, Bilawal Bhutto should work towards improving his own party’s government’s performance. He said that the condition of towns in Larkana and Dadu had worsened over the years, and people were living without basic facilities. He said that Sindh was more developed in ancient times compared to the present due to good planning of rulers.

PPP government has overlooked massive corruption in the Education Department. All this was confirmed with the selection of Dr Asim Hussain as the chairman of the provincial HEC. That step of PPP government was a clear message to the public that there would be no end to corruption under its watch.

He said the way PPP was governing the province, the day was not far when Uzair Baloch might get appointed as the home minister.

Jatoi said, “Sindh chief minister Syed Murad Ali Shah was violating law and he was following illegal directives of PPP’s top leadership to the detriment of the province’s wellbeing.”

He claimed that Dr Asim Hussain was facing a number of corruption cases whose investigation was underway by NAB. “It is a condemnable move by the PPP government to appoint him as the chairman of the HEC.”

He said that primary education system in the province had already been ruined even after the declaration of emergency in education sector. “Dr Asim Hussain was made the HEC chairman just to embezzle funds from the education budget,” he said, adding that PPP leaders were misusing government and public money.

He also mentioned the killing of three men in Mehar Town and held the PPP leadership responsible for it. He alleged that PPP legislator and his people were involved in the killing of Lal Chandio and his sons Mukhtiar Chandio and Qabil Chandio.
