PESHAWAR: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan on Monday said that the party salutes those who sacrificed their lives for the Kashmir cause.

On occasion of the Kashmir Solidarity Day, Khan said that Pakistan would continue to support the people of the Indian-occupied Kashmir, adding that peace in South Asia is impossible without resolution of the Kashmir issue.

Takes jibes at Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and Maulana Fazal-ur-Rehman headed Kashmir Committee, The PTI chief said that the Nawaz league has always expressed its ‘typical’ fragility when it comes to speaking up for the rights of Kashmiris at the global stage.

He also slammed Fazal-ur-Rehman saying that the Kashmir Committee has failed to work for its desired cause, and that the chairman of the committee has no interest in either the welfare of Pakistan or the Indian-occupied Kashmir.

Khan also criticised Indian authorities for depriving the people of Kashmir of their rights via use of force. “Indian state terrorism in Kashmir can not deprive Kashmiris of their rights for long,” said Khan. He also said that it is necessary to take into consideration the demands of the people of Kashmir to resolve the disputes.

In his concluding remarks, Khan said that the people of Pakistan are standing shoulder to shoulder with people of Kashmir and that he salutes the self-determination and resolve of the region’s youth against Indian atrocities.
