SARGODHA: Three accused of Sargodha shrine murders, including ‘faith-healer’ Abdul Waheed sent on physical remand by anti-terrorism courts.
The accused were handed to the police on Monday.
A joint investigation on the case has started and evidence, food items, sent to the forensic laboratory.
Since no one from the families of the victims came forward to file a complaint, police filed a case against Waheed and his accomplices.
Police say that the families of the victims hold Waheed in high regards despite him confessing to murder.
The accused who was a custodian of the Darbar Ali Muhammad Gujjar shrine in Sargodha said that he and his accomplices intoxicated the victims before torturing them to death. He claims the victims were planning to poison him.
Two men and women escaped the torture and reported the scene to locals who then informed the police.
The injured were admitted at the district headquarters hospital, where their condition is said to be improving.
Waheed worked at the Election Commission of Pakistan and resides in Green Town.
