LAHORE: About 42 kite flyers were apprehended by police during an operation on Sunday in Lahore, while 45 cases were also registered against the offenders.

Police authorities stated that during operations across the provincial metropolis 42 were taken into custody from the areas of Shalimar, Baghbanpura, Islampura, Sanda, Shad Bagh, Misri Shah and Raiwind. The police also recovered huge amounts of kites, rolls and strings.

Despite multiple crackdowns and operations conducted by the police going dating back to at least three months, offenders continue to surface every week.

At least 300 kite flyers have already been arrested from several areas of Lahore in the past three months, while Police have also seized over 6,000 kites, rolls and strings from the culprits.
