Rulers have personal enmity with Gujrat: Elahi

Author: Staff Report

Lahore: Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q) senior central leader Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi has said that the public health is not on the government’s agenda as people are dying in the hospitals due to lack of medicines and facilities.

Talking to the media during the marriage ceremony of daughter of Dr Ansar Mahmud in Gujrat on Saturday, former deputy prime minister Elahi said that the rulers had destroyed Punjab. “They have personal enmity with Gujrat as not a single public welfare project was launched there.”

Expressing sorrow over Libya mishap, he said that the Ministry of Interior should have taken precautionary measures prior to the sad incident. “Nobody bothers to apprehend agents sending youth abroad illegally and to take care of families of those who lose their lives in such mishaps or get arrested.”

Referring to the delimitation process, Elahi said when a clear situation would surface then a strategy would be chalked out.

Taking a jibe at former minister Nawaz Sharif, Elahi said, “If a person cannot understand why he was ousted how he can understand the sufferings of the masses.”

He said that Nawaz Sharif was targeting both the Pakistan Army and the judiciary. “Nawaz Sharif had attacked the Supreme Court and also got a judge in Bahawalpur attacked.”
