Pakistan is ready to work closely with Afghanistan: COAS

ISLAMABAD: Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa, who is on an official visit to the United Kingdom (UK), visited the British Ministry of Defence London.

The COAS had separate meetings with UK Defence Staff Chief Air Chief Marshal Sir Stuart Peach, Special Representative on Afghanistan and Pakistan Owen Jenkins and US Resolute Support Mission Commander General John Nicholson.

The UK leadership and RSM Commander appreciated the positive role played by Pakistan towards peace and stability in Afghanistan.

Bajwa emphasized that peace in Afghanistan is a shared interest; Pakistan will continue its positive role and is ready to work closely with Afghanistan.
