Social media users, including celebrities, have demanded the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government to immediately arrest the culprits in murder case of 3rd year medical student Asma Rani who was shot dead by a man for turning down his marriage proposal. The accused, Mujahid Afridi, and his brother gunned down the victim when she was on vacation in her hometown Kohat. According to police, Afridi has fled to Saudi Arabia.

Activist Danial Ahmed said, “#JusticeForAsmaRani in #Kohat, or for #Zainab in #Kasur; Pakistani #women I have only one message for you: Stop relying on a degenerate #Pakistani men for your #justice. Stand up for your rights and fight your own battle, and for a start; rebel against religious objections on you”

Activist Nighat Dad tweeted, “@ImranKhanPTI kuch nazar idhar bhee if you get free from playing politics on Zainab’s tragedy. Ashamed of what you all political parties have reduced too. @PTIofficial”

Journalist Nazrana Ghaffar said, “Dear Imran Khan, to get your attention, should we tell you that Asma Rani was killed somewhere in Punjab ??”

Actor Hamza Ali Abbasi said, “#JusticeForAsmaRani Mujahid Afridi is a cold blooded murderer who must be brought to justice asap. Arresting his brother for aiding his escape is fine but KP authorities must get him deported from Saudi Arabia & get him punished. May Allah’s curse be upon you Mujahid Afridi.”

PPP leader Naz Baloch tweeted, “Appalling! 2 young girls shot dead in Kohat on refusing marriage proposal. Hina Shahnawaz was murdered last year & now Asma lost her life because a man’s ego was hurt on rejection of proposal. Male chauvinism! #JusticeForAsmaRani”
