KHYBER AGENCY: Political Tehsildar Landi Kotal, Shams-ul-Islam paid a surprise visit to Landi Kotal Bazaar on Monday, inspected hygienic condition and checked the quality of different kind of edibles on sale in the markets.

Flanked by Line Officer and other khasadar officials, the tehsildar visiteda number of bakeries, tea stalls and butcher shops and checked its quality and scale. He expressed his dissatisfaction over the poor hygienic condition, prevailed there. The officials warned the traders to adopt immediate necessary cleanness measures otherwise legal action would be taken against the violators.

He also recalled meeting of representatives of bakery, beef and wood sellers to fix selling rates of the goods.

Tehsildar directed the khasadar force to remove encroachments, setting up in various streets of the bazaar and asked the shopkeepers avoid throwing garbage in the bazaar streets.

He vowed that no one would be permitted to play with health of the tribesmen and action would be taken against all those selling sub-standard commodities in the market.

Seized narcotics set ablaze in Bara: The political administration of Bara set on fire narcotics on Monday, seized in various raids and operations in different areas of Tehsil Bara.

In this connection a simple gathering was organized at the Levies Center, Jamrud that was attended by Assistant Political Agent (APA), Bara Ismatullah Wazir, Political Tehsildar Ghuncha Gul, Chief of Aka Khel tribe Malik Zahir Shah Afridi, President Anjuman-e-Tajeran, Bara Bazaar Said Ayaz Wazir number of elders and officials.

Speaking on the occasion APA, Bara Ismatullah Wazir said that the heap of seized narcotics testified that the administration was serious to clamp down on the drugs trade. He urged upon the tribesmen to join hands with them to get rid of the curse and develop a healthy and free of narcotics society.

At the end, a huge quantity of seized narcotics were set ablaze.

Bootlegger arrested: The political administration Landi Kotal recovered huge quantity of wine in a raid carried out here in Khyber, Zakha Khel area of Tehsil Landi Kotal on Monday.

Political Tehsildar Landi Kotal, Shams-ul-Islam said that on a tip off the khasadar force raided a number of alcohol selling centers and recovered 148 bottles of wine.

One accused wine dealer identified as Azizurrehman s/o Abdali an Afghan national was apprehended and sent to Landi Kotal lock up for investigation.

Tehsildar reiterated that all anti-social activities would be curtained in the area.
