Brother confesses to rape, murder of teenager in Quetta

QUETTA: Brother of the 13-year-old girl, who was found unconscious in Killi Ismail area and later pronounced dead in Civil Hospital on Sunday, has confessed to her rape and murder on Monday, police sources confirmed.

Police sources said that the victim’s brother, Kamran, confessed to rape and murder of the teenager in the initial investigation.

The accused’s blood samples and other evidences have been obtained by the police to conduct forensic examinations, while statements of the relatives have also been recorded.

Earlier, Kamran had said that he left home for 30 minutes and upon his return, he found the 13-year-old unconscious.

Police surgeon Dr Noor Baloch had said on Sunday after initial examination that there were suggestions that the girl was raped before being strangled to death.

Balochistan Chief Minister Abdul Quddus Bazinjo has also taken notice of the incident and ordered Inspector-General (IG) police to present a report.
