Contraband drugs, arms seized in Rawalpindi

RAWALPINDI: Law enforcement agencies on late Friday night seized a huge cache of contraband drugs including heroin, opium and hashish from a vehicle in Chakri area of the city.

According to sources, police along with Customs intelligence intercepted a vehicle during in Chakri area of the garrison city. However, the driver of the vehicle, however, fled after leaving the vehicle by the roadside.

During the search of the vehicle, police recovered contraband drugs comprising 1.5kg heroin, 27kg opium, and 16.5kg hashish, a pistol and bullets.

Law enforcement agencies impounded the vehicle and started investigation after registering a case.
