A bitter reality with hope

Author: Ayesha Irfan

I see humans,

But no humanity,

Why do people treat others so savagely?

I want to live in a world where kindness exists.

I want to live in a world better than this.

Everywhere I go, I see people getting hurt.

I see people leaving others in the dirt.

Starved children without a home.

Many people lost and alone.

Lies, Corruption;

I see stabbings and abduction.

Why does nobody care anymore?

Why is everyone always at war?

We need to treat people the way we would like to be treated.

We need to stop being cruel and conceited;

Even after all these terrible things.

I still have faith in what the future brings.

I will always believe that humanity will change

And I’m determined to see this happen,

No matter how long it takes.
