Passport condition for Pakistani traders, transporters is economic murder: Ijaz

KHYBER AGENCY: Imposing passport condition for Pakistani transporters and traders to cross the Torkham Border is the economic murder of the tribesmen, said Mufti Ijaz, Leader of JUI-F here on Wednesday.

He was addressing a press conference in Landi Kotal Press Club, Mufti Ijaz, General Secretary Federally Administered Tribal Area (FATA) Jamiat Ullema-e-Islam, Fazl (JUI-F). He was flanked by in charge JUI-F social media, Sami Swati, sectary information, Khyber Qari Jihad Shah, ameer JUI-F, Landi Kotal ameer, Mualana Mujahid, Mift Ijaz uttered heartfelt distress over the blocking of 3G facility in the area and said through the unjustified act the tribesmen had been barred of information.

He said the suspension of 3G services in tribal belt for last one year is a deliberate attempt to keep the tribal-people ignorant.

The political administration should resolve dispute of Torkham taxi stand and make a source of income for its owner, Khuga Khel tribe, he maintained.

He said that on pretext of security, introducing fresh and restricted condition of producing passport to cross Torkham border on either side for the truckers and merchants was regretful and equllent to deprive the tribesmen of earning three time meals.

Tribal have suffered a lot during the on-going “War on Terror” therefore pro-tribal policies need to be formulated for their relief.

He maintained that if suspension of 3G was related to security reasons in FATA then it should be blocked in provinces of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Punjab and Sindh where terrorists’ activities had taken place in recent past.

He urged the authorities concerned to resume 3G net system as soon as possible in FATA.

He criticized the administration for turning blind eyes towards the most awaited conflict of Torkham taxi stand that had been suffered the local tribal of Khuga Khel.

He warned that if their grievances was not address immediately than they would come out on the road in agitation to get their rights.
