SUKKUR: Deputy Commissioner Sukkur, Raheem Bux Maitlo has said that no negligence would be tolerated in forthcoming polio immunization campaign in district. Chairing a meeting regarding arrangements for the campaign in the district, which will start from February 10, 2018, he said that polio remained a big issue for the country therefore we have to strive for its eradication. He said that no one would be allowed to demonstrate a careless attitude towards the campaign. We have to ensure immunization of each and every child below five years of age, he stressed. Deputy Commissioner stressed need to make effective measures for immunization campaign all over the district.
DHO briefed the meeting about arrangements and target of the campaign. The anti-polio staff would also remain present at fixed and transit points of the district, he maintained. He directed the concerned authorities and staff to focus on parents refusing administration of anti-polio vaccine to their children.
Additional Deputy Commissioner, Ali Raza Ansari, District Health Officer Sukkur, Dr Abdul Sattar Mahar, Focal Person, Abdul Hayee Khoso, representative of World Health Organisation, Ghulam Akbar Ghanghro and concerned officials were in attendance.
