Author: Staff Report

LAHORE: Pakistan WAPDA successfully introduced T12 Cricket format in 2015 with a theme: “Focus on Fitness and Fielding”. This theme is used to achieve highest levels of physical fitness and fielding standards at par with bowling and batting. Taking cue from baseball, where fielding and running is premier, some changes have been introduced to traditional cricket to put stress on fitness and fielding. The first edition of WAPDA T12 School Cricket Tournament was held in Lahore in December 2015, whereas its second and third editions were held in Karachi and Islamabad respectively in 2017. This format has been highly appreciated by Shaharyar Khan, former Chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), Riaz Hussain Pirzada, Federal Minister IPC, Dr Nawaz Ganjera, Director General Pakistan Sports Board (PSB), former cricketers and the participating schools. The 4th edition of WAPDA T12 School Cricket Tournament was held at Arbab Niaz Stadium, Peshawar.
