SARGODHA: Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) on Thursday handed over custodian of a Sufi shrine Abdul Wahid Gujjar, along with two accomplices Asif and Zafar, involved in Sargodha carnage to the police on a six-day physical remand.

According to details, ATC judge Tariq Aleem Zargham heard the case, during which the accused – including the prime suspect – were presented before the court.

The police officials requested the court to extend the physical remand of the accused for conducting further investigations. Accepting the request of the police officials, the court extended the physical remand of the accused for six days.

On the day of the mishap, the victims were apparently given intoxicants before the gruesome killings, and some of the bodies were stripped nude.

The custodian, 50-year-old Abdul Waheed, told police he killed the worshippers because he thought they might kill him one day, Arshad Abbas, an investigator in the case told media.

Some officials have said that Waheed had mental problems and had used violence on followers before.
