RAWALPINDI: Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa on Tuesday inaugurated Army Institute of Military History (AIMH) at the General Headquarters (GHQ).
Speaking on occassion, Gen Bajwa commended the efforts of the AIMH team for the initiative. “I hope AIMH goes a long way in preserving and keeping alive the glorious history and heritage of Pakistan Army,” said COAS.
The institute of military history aims to preserve and record history of Pakistan’s armed forces and looks to provide an in-depth study of the military history, Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said in a statement.
The museum is divided into various sections including Rebirth of a Nation, Quaid and Armed Forces, Shuhada Corner, Nishan-e-Haider Gallery, Life at Highest Battlefield Siachin, Kashmir Corner, Pakistan’s contributions in United Nations, Nation Building Efforts and White of the Flag.
Special areas are also designated for the army personnel who laid their lives fighting terrorism, a gallery of Nishan-e-Haider recipients and a Kashmir corner.
