Woman shot dead in apparent honour killing in Khairpur

KHAIRPUR: Setharja Police Sunday claimed that a 19-year-old woman, Farzana Rind, was shot dead for honour in the vicinity of Hussain Abad Setharja.

The relatives of deceased said that her father and brother were allegedly involved in the murder.

Police shifted the body to Thari Mirwah Hospital for a postmortem and arrested brother of deceased, Khadim Hussain Rind.

Rafique Rind, father of deceased, said that he was not aware about the killer. Police started further investigation into the matter.

Meanwhile, the body of a 10 years old school student was recovered by Mirpur Mathelo police with help of the Pakistan Navy from RD-31 of Maso Canal near Khanpur Mahar.

The boy had gone missing some 11 days ago from Kausar Colony. Imran Asif, the brother-in-law of the deceased, had confessed to killing the schoolboy. Mirpur Mathelo Police had registered a FIR against Imran.

In another incident, two people lost their lives and two others sustained sustained injuries when a tractor-trolley hit their motorcycle on Thaheem Link Road near Pano Akil.

Pano Akil police handed over bodies to relatives while the injured were shifted to Sukkur Hospital.
