Sir: It has now been a year since President Donald Trump came to power. It is not an exaggeration that the US is the only nation that has an effect on every part of the globe. America has had a role in tackling global problems since the end of World War II. This only adds to the apprehension about all of America’s every action. Sometime ago, former American President Barack Obama’s call for change created much appreciation and excitement, not only in the US but also across the world. Now, countries all over the globe are expecting the US to re-engage with the international community through the proper and reliable rules. To do so, America should show strong and unbiased leadership. Balanced leadership will definitely help diffuse global tension.

Besides this, countries across the world are always keenly watching the activities in the US. Naturally, America which is often termed the land of milk and honey is a beautiful country surrounded by stunning beaches. The Pacific Ocean and the Atlantic Ocean add to the beauty and magnificence of America. Way back in 2001, I had bumped into a bunch of Americans in my native areas like Tuticorin, Kanyakumari, Tiruchendur and Tirunelveli in Tamil Nadu, India. Their passion was just energetic and inspiring. At the same time, nearly all newspapers in America are unnecessarily critical of the US President. A quick glance at these newspapers online has made me understand this sad fact. The media should support the ruling regime through proper coverage.
