Discussion on drivers of change and future skills

ISLAMABAD: ACCA President, Brian McEnery was hosted by The Millennium University College (TMUC) in a panel discussion on Drivers of Change and Future Skills at TMUC, Islamabad on Friday. State Minister for Education Balighur Rehman was the guest of honour. Academics, industry professionals, ACCA stakeholders and members participated in the discussion. The panelists included Amna Tahir, Salman Amin, Aftab Ahmad, Faisal Mushtaq, and Sajeed Aslam. The purpose of the discussion was to generate a dialogue on the factors identified by a report published by ACCA on the drivers of change and future skills. The discussion revolved around the technical, ethical and interpersonal skills and competencies that professional accountants will need to have in the future. Speaking on the occasion Mr. Brian McEnery stated “The global economy is fast changing. It is a world in which the accountancy profession needs to ensure that its members have the knowledge, skills and abilities to help organisations sustain economic growth and compete nationally and internationally. Pakistan, as an economy is progressive and vibrant and I am glad to see that ACCA as a global accountancy body is shaping the profession in the country.”
