LAHORE: The Government of Punjab (GoP) has on Saturday rejected Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Shireen Mazari’s allegation of government bodies charging parents of Kasur rape victim to conduct DNA tests.

Mazari, in a tweet, alleged that GoP has asked parents of a minor girl, who was raped and murdered in Kasur earlier this month, to pay for DNA examinations. “Punjab government’s callousness again shown as parents of Zainab asked to pay for DNA tests,” the PTI leader said in a twitter message.

GoP official twitter account, however, rejected Mazari’s claim saying that the information shared is ‘totally rubbish, false and fabricated’, while also taking a jibe at the PTI MNA for ‘lying’.

In another tweet in response to Mazari’s allegation, GoP assured that all provinces, including PTI-administered Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (KP), benefit from services of Punjab Forensic Science Agency.
