EGMS Gagra launches enrolment campaign, holds education walk

KHYBER AGENCY: Ever-first Government Middle School (EGMS), Gagra, tehsil Landi Kotal launched enrolment campaign on Saturday.

In this connection an education walk was conducted by numbers of students and teachers of the education institution with intention to create awareness among the tribesmen pertaining importance of education. The marchers were holding banners inscribed with slogans reading significance of education beside different kind of incentives to attract new admission in the school. Humayun Khan, Physical Education Teacher (PET) of EGMS who was one of the campaigners said that the drive was initiated to attract more outside children into the school. He said that banners had been fixed at public places to motivate parents to admit their children in the school. Counting advantage of enrolling children in the State-run school, Humayun said called upon the people who could not afford private education for their children to admit their children in the government school where free admission, free books and free education were provided to them.

He maintained that free of charge tution would be given to the students by the teaching staff of GMS, Gagra during vacations.

“We have enough class rooms, teaching staff, furniture and other facilities to accommodate all non-admitted children of the area,” PET teacher said.

He urged upon the parents not to destroy future of their children for few coins by letting them to work as cart pushers, tea sellers or other child labors works and asked them to decorate their children with ornaments of knowledge.

“Depression comes from the mind and invades not just the mind but the body as well; it’s like an unstoppable force. It feels like an immense evil that overtakes the joy of sleep and relaxation and fills the brain with discouragement instead of enthusiasm”, She said.

Hamid Shah, a student of MBBS said that students face a lot of problems because of studies and are in a lot of pressure from their personal lives including domestic and financial problems that leads them into depression. Fatima Khalid also a student of MBBS stated that she finds solace in religion and claims that everyone should have faith and should share their feelings so that more people can become aware regarding the issue of depression. The event concluded with a prize distribution ceremony in which securing 1st position was Hamid Shah from NWSM and the 2nd position was secured by ZopashNawabalso a student at the NWSMand the 3rd place went to Nauman Mehsud from Jinnah Medical College.
