Stop killing women for honour

JACOBABAD: Workers of various political and civil society organisations protested against killing of women for honour on Sunday.

The rally was led by Jaan Muhammad Odhano, CDF leader, Jamila Soomro, STP leader, Qamar Bano, PPP ladies wing leader, Raaz Khan Pathan, PTI leader, Dilmurad Lashari, Awami Party Leader, Zahid Hussain Rind, GM Mastoi, Agha Ghazanfar Pathan, GM Somro form Awami Tehreek, Tariq Rind and Nadeem Bahrani.

Speaking on the occasion, leaders said that a lot of laws have been passed by elected assemblies to avoid torture on women and brutal killings of innocent women, but government has failed to implement over them due to which in first quarter of the this year 03 women have been slaughtered from 05 in Jacobabad which was regrettable and condemnable act.

In addition, it is prime responsibility of Government to take stern steps to implement on laws, which was made by government, but they lamented that elected representatives have been failed to discharge their responsibilities hence 50% population is deprived to get justice and they have unable to participate the healthy role in the development of the country.

Protesters demanded of the authorities concerned to take stern steps to implement on laws especially 311 PPC otherwise they threatened to extend their protest movement across Sindh.

A large number of protesters, taking placard and banners inscribed slogans against brutal killings and torture on women, were chanting slogans against brutal killings and torture on women.
