WASHINGTON: Vasyl Lomachenko easily retained his WBO junior lightweight title on Saturday, with a dominating boxing display over Jason Sosa, whose corner pulled the plug at the end of the ninth round. The 29-year-old Ukrainian cemented his status as one of the best pound-for-pound fighters in the world with a ninth round TKO in just his ninth pro fight. “I came into the ring to do my job. I think I did my job really well,” said Lomachenko. Lomachenko used his speed, skill and power to improve to 8-1 by outclassing American Sosa who wouldn’t quit despite taking a beating from the opening round.
