LAHORE: Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) chairman Tahirul Qadri said on Wednesday that the joint protest rally only seeks an end to the ‘sultanate of Sharifs’ and that leaders of all parties duly respect the country’s constitution and democracy.
Addressing the attendees, Qadri thanked leaders and representatives of all aide parties for gathering in solidarity with the victims of Model Town incident.
“Entire political leadership is here to honour humanity, to empower the weak, to give voice to the voiceless. We have gathered here to save the country from Sheikh Mujeeb of a new era.” Qadri said.
The PAT chief confirmed that the sit-in was a means to provide people with their rights and to put an end to Sharif family’s ‘cruelty’, also regarding them as an ‘enemy’ of Pakistan.
