LAHORE: Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Co-Chairman Asif Ali Zardari on Wednesday said that the only threat facing Pakistan is the Jati Umra (the infamous residence of former prime minister Nawaz Sharif).

Zardari, while addressing to Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT)’s join protest rally at Mall Road, said that all the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader cares about is the Jati Umra, and that he has zero concern with the welfare of Pakistan.

“They do not care about Pakistan, they only care about Jati Umra,” Zardari said.

The former president also went on to claim that if he wished, he could topple PML-N government anytime, but his concern is the protection of democracy.

“They know that they can be disqualified anytime if I wish to do so, but my priority is the betterment of Pakistan,” He claimed.

Zardari also criticised the idea of a military rule saying that “dictators do not build countries, they only destroy them.”

He expressed his gratitude towards sit-in attendees and ensured that families of victims of Model Town incident would be served justice.
