Alhamra Arts Council director pays visit to ailing comedian Amaanullah

LAHORE: Alhamra Arts Council Executive Director Captain (r) Atta Muhammad Khan visited the globally recognised comedian Amaanullah Khan who is undergoing treatment at the Surgimed Hospital, Lahore on Tuesday.

Captain (r) Atta Muhammad Khan presented him a bouquet of flowers and prayed for his early recovery. He also met the doctors of Surgimed Hospital and appreciated the role of the hospital in providing treatment to patients, including Amaanullah Khan.

He recognised the services of Amaanullah by saying that there is no doubt that when it comes to stand-up comedy, no one can hold a candle to Amaanullah. He further said that Amaanullah through his unique style proved that vulgarity was not the essence of comedy and that quality comedy was possible without any dual meaning slang.

Amaanullah thanked the executive director of Alhamra Arts Council and said that as long as we had people like Captain (r) Atta Muhammad Khan, our cultural heritage was in safe hands.

Furthermore, he also honoured the presence of Captain (r) Atta Muhammad Khan.
