The first blast occurred in the South Waziristan Agency’s Sarkokae area when two shepherd children – nine-year-old Kalsum and seven-year-old Rasheed — were tending their herd of cattle. They picked up a toy bomb, which later exploded. Both of them were critically injured in the blast.
Eyewitness said that both the children had been taken to Sarokae Hospital. However, no doctor was present there. The people then shifted the kids to DI Khan Hospital. The DI Khan Hospital administration confirmed that that both the children were being treated there, adding that Kalsum had lost a hand and Rasheed had lost an eye.
In Bannu, a young boy died and another received critical injuries as they were fishing with explosives. Police said the explosive charge went off in their hand.

District Police Officer (DPO) Majeed Abbas said that the police teams had conducted the operations in various areas of Kohat. During separate operations, police arrested 56 suspects and two alleged facilitators of terrorists. In Qila Saifullah, unidentified gunmen shot dead a health worker on Sunday.
