Chinese ambassador meets Nawaz Sharif

LAHORE: Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan Yao Jing Saturday met former prime minister Mian Nawaz Sharif and hoped that all the projects relating to China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) would be executed smoothly.

During the meeting, he said that the CPEC had laid a strong foundation in carrying out their decades’ old socio- economic partnership that was meant to improve living condition of the people. Yao Jing appreciated Nawaz Sharif’s support and commitment to promote Sino-Pak friendship and said that two countries have come closer to each other to promote their common aspirations of the people of two countries.

Nawaz Sharif thanked the newly appointed ambassador to Pakistan and hoped that his positive role would further contribute to the development of socio economic partnership, particularly in the context of the CPEC. He particularly lauded that partnership of two countries in the field of counter terrorism.

Nawaz Sharif lauded China’s support and appreciation for the measures taken by the Pakistani civil and military leadership in combating terrorism. “It is a matter of greater satisfaction that China fully acknowledges Pakistan’s sacrifices in the war on terror,” he added.
