LeJ commander gunned down in Sukkur shootout

KHAIRPUR: The Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) claimed to have gunned down a commander of Lashkar-e-Jhangvi (LeJ) on Monday.

CTD officials said they had an exchange of fire with terrorists near the Sukkur Bus Terminal.

During the gun battle, a terrorist, identified as Kamran Bhatti, breathed his last.

Talking to media, Sukkur CTD Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Irfan Sumoon and Karachi CTD SSP Umar Hamid said the terrorists tried to enter Sukkur from Balochistan.

They claimed that Bhatti was involved in attacks on SSP Chaudhry Aslam, Pakistan Navy and Amjad Sabri.
