RAWALPINDI: The Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RCCI) organized first ever e-Health Conference to promote Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) at a local hotel here on Tuesday.

Addressing the conference, Executive Director Rawalpindi Institute of Cardiology (RCI) Major General (Retd) Dr Azhar Mahmood Kayani who was the chief guest on the occasion appreciated RCCI’s role in promoting e-health concept among the masses. He said that digital healthcare is the future of Pakistan.

Both public and private hospitals are overcrowded with patients and we are running out of sources to meet the high number of patients in hospitals. With technology we can improve our workflow management and patient diagnosis, he added. With state of the art facilities, and IT help we can reduce the percentage of surgeries, for example, appendicitis, kidney, C-section and others.
